JM Family Enterprises Inc. has rebranded its vehicle finance business under a single name — Southeast Toyota Finance — in an effort to better associate itself with the OEM.
JM Family launched its financial products and services arm, World Omni Financial Corp., in 1981. Then in 1996, World Omni created the Southeast Toyota Finance brand to better serve and offer personalized support to the Southeast Toyota dealers.
“Depending on where you sit within the industry, some people have seen World Omni Financial Corp. as a company that lends more broadly,” Brent Sergot, group vice president of originations, said in a report. “We thought it was time to do some grand clarity and reiterate our focus on the Southeast Toyota brand.”
Now, ahead of its 50th anniversary, JM Family will mark dealership materials and customer care centers with the Southeast Toyota Finance brand, rather than World Omni. The core financial services business will remain the same with Southeast Toyota Finance and DataScan, the company’s wholesale floorplan accounting and risk management system, still under the management of JM Family’s financial services arm. Beyond finance, JM Family provides finance and insurance products as well as distribution of Toyota vehicles in the region.
The customer care center in Mobile, Ala., has already been renovated, while a redesign for the St. Louis, Mo., a center is in the works.
